About The Maker

Hi!! My Name is Vanessa, and I'm the mastermind and creator here at Whipped'n'wick'd Candle Company. 

I reside in a small town in the central part of washington state called Moses Lake. This town is known for the sand dunes and beautiful lakes that surround us. I live here with my husband and 2, 4 legged children(dogs) named Koa and Angel.

 I grew up not having many hobbies or really being good at anything( this was just my thought anyway), I didn't feel as if I had an artistic bone in my body, BUT,  I have always liked to bake and create mouth watering desserts for friends and family to enjoy. 

I started this journey making wax melts after I was addicted to buying them, We won't talk about that!!! LOL. I love having a clean and cozy smelling house. I know I'm not alone on that one.

Who would've guessed this is when my creative artisitic side came out, Who would've thought right? anyways, I was making the basic wax melts and then started getting creative and making them look like cookies, little pies, and all sorts of yummy treats. I was always getting people coming up to me at vendor events asking if there was gluten or red dye 40 in my snacks, (yes snacks, they thought they were edible) Then I had to break it to them that it was all wax!! Needless to say they were impressed with my work. I ventured down this path for about 6 months then I got into candle making, I knew I wanted this to be more than just a wax melt business. 

So after months of researching, watching hours and hours of candle making videos, taking notes, asking questions, learning what makes a candle burn, how it burns properly, and how to fix many things that could go wrong in a test burn . Phew!! that's ALOT!! I now understood that it was alot more than just putting a wick and fragrance into wax, I was IN FOR A RIDE!! I started picking scents and jars and pouring basic candles, doing the test burns, Which had alot of failed tests, Man this was alot of work and NOT for the weak.

I spent months of testing trying to get a proper and safe burning candle,  And then it happened!! I got my first succesful burn! I was doing a happy dance all over my living room!! So from there I understood the tweaks that I needed to make for the others, I perfected my other candles to ensure a safe and beautiful burn with a nice and pleasant scent. It didn't stop there.........

It was here that my brain went into over drive, I started things about all of my wax melt treats I was making and thought why couldn't I combine the two and come up with a dessert type candle. BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD!! More testing, more fails, then many successes! And here we are!! I have 9 successful burning dessert candles that everyone has loved. I am always comming up with new designs and scents to keep things fresh and new. I enjoy every part of this and I have to say that it has helped me stay busy and give me a purpose in life.
